The Great American Cleanup®, the nation’s largest community improvement program, engaged more than 550,000 volunteers and participants across the country in 2019 to create positive change and lasting impact in their local communities. In Greenville, the 2019 Great American Cleanup resulted in more than 600 pounds of litter removed from our green space and roadways!

From Keep America Beautiful:

Keep America Beautiful is pleased to announce the Great American Cleanup 2020 has been rescheduled for June 1 – Oct. 18. As the country begins to open up and Americans are getting back to spending time outdoors, it is as important as ever to help end litter across our great nation. This means that we should all make sure that waste (including PPE) gets placed in the trash and we all recycle based on local capabilities.

Regarding litter collection, Great American Cleanup event organizers have been provided clear guidance to ensure that volunteer health is our first priority. All cleanups should adhere to guidelines from federal, state, and local public health officials so timely and accurate information can guide safe and appropriate activities in each location.

Don't want to wait for the cleanup to be rescheduled? Good news - you can sign up to participate in the virtual Great American Cleanup today!
